This piece invites the viewer to question the value we place on material things. Too often we judge success based on wealth, property and possessions. We evaluate people on how they look and what they wear and consider this as a marker of accomplishment. ‘Rich Man’s Shoes’ is a figurative representative of this judgement. Is prioritising wealth as a determining factor of happiness genuinely important?
