Butterfly is a new edition, perfected to sit in harmony with now sold out bee editions, blending themes of nature and decadence. They are connected through the continuation of circles, symmetry and the regal, multifaceted, gold backgrounds.

The gold embossment catches and plays with the light, changing the mood over time for the viewer. Each piece is perfected, made with multiple colour overlay lithography, creating different depth and dimension with the butterfly wings, saying different things at different times of day or year with the use of gold.

The butterfly is an empowering symbol of an entity which has survived great changes and emerged on the other side. An omen that lightness is on the way even during the most challenging of times.  We all emerge from the chrysalis of winter into the promise and lightness of another Spring in which we will discover and enjoy the fruits of our transformation. Beyond the parallels that this creature draws upon life, it’s also a symbol of our environment. The environment transforms endlessly, always as a means to heal.

The butterfly is a relic of presence. A keeper of moments. A reminder of just how fleeting time can be, how precious and fragile life is. The butterfly is a symbol that resonates with most. Those who cross paths with one deem such an occurrence as a simple pleasure, a token of luck.

The golden halo surrounding this creature elevates it into the realm of purity. It is making a connection to the past, a connection to the art historical canon in which gold was used to denote one’s importance. Capturing the butterfly’s ephemeral nature in such pristine detail preserves this moment in time for all to enjoy. It serves as a reminder of our own impermanence and mortality in this life as well as the beauty of transformation.
